Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is a therapy that addresses the body as a whole. Deeply relaxing and gentle it enables the body to attain its natural state of equilibrium and healing. It’s often used to heal the underlying physical, chemical, emotional and mental causes of chronic illnesses.
During a session, the patient lies on a bed, wearing loosely fitting clothes and relaxes. The therapist applies a series of movements, such as, the rolling of muscle, nerve, tendon, and connective tissue along the spine and at specific points throughout the body. The therapist leaves the room between each pattern in the series so as to allow the patient the opportunity for deep relaxation. It is this deep relaxed and the physical treatment that acts upon the body’s nervous system to enable it to regain its own natural state of equilibrium.
